The precedent image for a large entry sculpture to the new Woodlea Estate development showed a delicate skeleton leaf. How to transform this into a robust, un-climable sculpture that looked alive rather than dead? The answer lay in the application of voronoi tessellation, a patterning that’s found in nature and symbolises growth. The cell of a voronoi pattern has a direct proportional relationship with each of its neighbours ... harmonious and robust.
