Laverton Train Station

The brief from Public Transport Victoria (formerly DOT), called for the revitalisation of a newly built railway station and pedestrian overpass which was suffering from constant graffiti attack on its large expanses of grey concrete.

BiGfiSh devised a simple solution to liven up sections of the structure using stencil patterns inspired by rail tracks, which could be simply applied and effectively transform the structures from their utilitarian drabness. The incidence of wilful damage decreased dramatically once the new treatment was completed.

The project also included landmark signage and implementation of decorative features for platforms, overpass and columns.
