Michael Blunden formed BiGfiSh in 1991 and was the working heart of the company until his untimely passing in February 2009. His passion, enthusiasm and integrity are the core strengths that underpin all our work and will remain as we continue to meet the high standards he established.
Alfons van Maanen,
BA Design (Industrial Design), RMIT. Twenty
years commercial experience in product, graphic and architectural
design projects from concept development through to production and
construction.
Alfons has been a senior designer with BiGfiSh for 10 years. His skills
range from visualisation, freehand and technical drawings (CAD), materials
technology and construction systems through to project management.
Renata Slusarski,
BA Design (graphic design), University of South
Australia. Background includes training in festival arts. Formed BiGfiSh in
1991. Renata works extensively on concepts using computer generated
programs. Much of her recent work is based on designs for public
spaces including seating and sculptures as well as signage features for
municipalities throughout Victoria.
Renata believes good design should respond with integrity, humour and
beauty to the needs and desires of its participants/users
Alex Yaschenko, brings a wealth of knowledge to Big Fish with skills in carpentry, plaster work, fibreglassing and construction methods as well as computer design skills. Alongside his practical expertise Alex brings a remarkable drive and enthusiasm to the workshop which permeates through all projects.
Judi Stansfield, is a valuable member of the BiGfiSh team. In a former life, Judi was a Media Studies and English teacher, and fights herself daily to stop correcting everyone’s spelling and grammar. In this current life, she is the “financial controller” at BiGfiSh and the one we turn to for writing creatively, sourcing things and french pastries.
Victor Cutjar & Daniel Evans, Victor surfs and is exceptionally skilled in metalwork, having worked as a boilermaker in a large plant for over 30 years. Daniel has been with the company since late 2007 as a trainee in the workshop. He continues to impress with his enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Bigger & better things to come!
